90’s Block Party Recap

The best description of Friday night’s block party: totally rad! From one-night-only entrees and dinner deals to specialty desserts and drinks to dancing on The Village lawn and playing games with friends, the event was a blast from start to finish!

In celebration of the opening of Heritage Entertainment District, the party centered around a 90s theme and the return of live music to the Pavilion stage. Dial Up, a 90s tribute pop band from Northwest Arkansas, took the stage to bring hours of dance fuel for attendees. Their nostalgic jam session featured favorites from the hottest bands of the decade. The Village lawn and Pavilion became a dance floor for some while others took advantage of the fabulous weather playing rounds of corn hole or chatting it up with friends.

The invitation was given for party-goers to pull out their best vintage looks for the occasion and there were hair clips, platforms, and fabulous streetwear to be seen all throughout The Village. With fashion nods to Clueless and Saved By The Bell, there was no shortage of imagination on the part of partiers making the event even more fun! Merchants at The Village got in on the action, too. Birria tacos were the featured item from Vargas Fruteria, Heritage Pizza Parlor offered a special Friday night buffet, and Las Americas had street tacos for sale on their patio. No matter the craving, there was something for everyone and every appetite!

It goes without saying that events like these require planning and preparation to be executed well, and though it’s hard to thank every single person who played a part in Friday’s success, there are a few to mention here. Thank you to the Merchants at The Village for their participation in the event and making guests feel right at home, to The Heritage Group for coordinating, marketing, and acting as a contact point for visitors and attendees, and as always, a huge thank you to everyone involved at ACHE for their constant work towards building community at Heritage. From parking to prep to post-event clean up and beyond, so many people work together to make events like the 90s Block Party go off without a hitch.

And one final, special thanks to every person who dressed up (or not) and came to hang out with us, support local businesses, and celebrate the kick-off of Heritage Entertainment District...there’s no community without you.

Keep an eye out for what’s next at Heritage, you won’t want to miss it!
