Christmas at The Porches & Holidays at Heritage

Family, friends, lots of cheer, a dash of giveaways with a generous helping of good food and fun—this year’s Christmas at The Porches and Holidays at Heritage was everything we planned and so much more! We were once again amazed at the support of our community and if you missed it, you’re in luck! Today, we’re dishing on the event and the people who made it possible.

Christmas at The Porches was started as the first tradition of many to come for Heritage. As a community, our goal is to add more attractions each season and as the years go by, feature more local people, businesses, and stories. In 2019, the event centered around the original pocket neighborhood of white houses and the beautiful, Christmas decor adorning them both inside and out. As we looked forward into 2020, we could not have known how the year would twist and turn but knew we wanted to bring peace, joy, and excitement into this holiday season.

The warmth of community and family togetherness are two, evergreen themes for all of our events. In practice, this means creating opportunities for you, your family, friends, and neighbors to spend time together meaningfully. Craft paper, crayons, and create-your-own-ornament stations adorned our picnic tables, while the North Pole mailbox invited kids to mail their lists straight to Santa for consideration. The Porches opened multiple houses and Firstar Bank filled them with the smell of fresh cookies, hot cocoa, and apple cider. Sounds of well-loved Christmas carols floated through the air as coat-clad guests and friends strolled through Heritage, steamy beverage in hand. The Opus Creative team was back to provide family photos for all of our attendees. From big family groups to dogs and their moms, there was no shortage of people willing to sit for a portrait with a holiday flare.

This year for the first time, The Village Merchants were able to participate in the festivities! Every business was represented and offered specials, discounts, and treats to attendees. From delicious cookies (special thanks to Porch Cookies, a local cookie artisan out of Greenwood) to coupons to presentations, each of the Merchants showed up and showed out to appreciate the community and spread a little joy! In a joint effort spearheaded by Heritage Group Real Estate Co., our Village Merchants were able to draw for three incredible prize packages, ranging in value from $350 to $600, which were awarded to lucky winners over the next week. The event gave a small glimpse into all the wonderful things to come for Heritage Community and we cannot wait to see what 2021 brings!

Be sure to keep an eye on Heritage, The Village, and all the progress happening at The Porches. Through the hard work, support, and resources of ACHE, Rick Mooney Construction, and Chasen Garrett Architects, The Village is now weeks away from being fully open and operational (full list of businesses listed on our home page). Come on over, we sure can’t wait to see you!
