Las Americas Open at Heritage

One of Heritage’s most highly anticipated ribbon cuttings took place last week on a sunny Monday morning. With ACHE leadership, community supporters, and friends in attendance, Mercedes, Antonio, and Robert cut the ribbon on the newest Las Americas location.

The restaurant, well-known in Fort Smith, set out to build at Heritage last year. With special thanks to Rick Mooney Construction, Chasen Garrett Architects, Heritage Group Real Estate Co., Tributary Studios, and ACHE, Las Americas launched an updated brand and The Village location features open spaces, bright neutral finishes, and many custom touches that further elevate its interior design, placing it in perfect harmony with the excellence of the food and service. In a stroke of genius, their design plans also included an event room that’s now available for reservation. Book your parties, meetings, and everything in between today!

From the moment you walk inside, every smell and sound invites you to explore the tastes of Central and South America. A window to the kitchen, in full view behind the prep area, ushers the aromas of hot, prepared plates into the dining space. The servers, all dressed in polos bearing the Las Americas logo, bustle about delivering fresh chips and salsa to each table. In the corner, framed in brick, is a rotisserie spit spinning whole chickens, each one ready to be plated for anyone looking to sample the Peruvian chicken (an offering exclusive to the Heritage location). To the far right, rustic-style light fixtures hang perfectly over the bar, and just steps from there, you’ll find the white doors to the event room. The restaurant atmosphere is approachable and exciting, the wait staff is top-tier (be sure to ask for their recommendation if you’re unsure when ordering—you won’t be disappointed), and most days this spot at The Village is teeming with patrons, for obvious reasons. Las Americas is a family-owned brand, and if you’ve been to their restaurants, you know full well that it truly is cocina de Mercedes. Her culinary creations adorn the menu, from front to back, and you can taste the love in every dish she creates.

To say that we are pleased to have Las Americas in our community would be putting it far too lightly. They have created a name for themselves here in the River Valley, and we’re elated that they chose to venture out at Heritage with their second location. Whether you’ve got a craving for chips and salsa or something slightly more adventurous, you’ll be sure to find it at Las Americas at Heritage!
