ARCOM Graduates First Class of Doctors
“Life is precious. Every life is important. You are that flag bearer of hope that never let us lose hope in life. You hold our hand in the most difficult of times. Thank you, Doctor.” -Unknown
Saturday, May 15, 2021 marked a historic day for the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education, and the entire Heritage Community. The inaugural class of doctors walked across the stage at Stubblefield Center in front of their peers, instructors, family, and friends as degrees were conferred upon them, tassels were moved, caps tossed—a hard-earned, fitting celebration for a group of doctors who overcame great difficulty with grace and excellence.
Graduation week was filled with activities that provided a rare opportunity for many of the graduates to explore and share their campus with loved ones. Heritage became the host to people from across the country as ARCOM pulled out all of the stops to properly celebrate this incredible class. The weekend culminated in the commencement ceremony, hosted at the Stubblefield Center on the UAFS campus. Socially distanced and taking appropriate precautions, the ARCOM and ACHE staff went above and beyond to provide a safe graduation experience.
Proud doesn’t begin to describe our feelings for this first class of doctors, so we will say it like this: each and every one of you made an impact on us. You chose ARCOM, but you also chose Heritage. With every cup of coffee, sandwich, dog walk, and ice cream treat, we got to know you a little better. We cheered for your dreams and while you supported ours. We became your home away from home and you became our friends. Then you became our family. You are the very fabric of our community. No matter where the next step takes you, you left your mark on Heritage. And don’t you forget, you’ll always be at home here.
